Winter Weddings
Winter doesn’t have to be a gray and depressing time. Winter weddings can be magical and filled with life. Most people think of Christmas time when mentioning winter, but remember that you don’t have to focus your wedding theme around the holiday colors. In fact, you can bring any color into a winter theme. Because your complementing colors are typically white, you can choose anything on the color wheel and still have the winter theme.
Winter wedding decor
When considering what type of wedding decor you would like to incorporate into your winter theme wedding, remember to stay somewhat true to the season. Basically, you don’t want to decorate using trees with leaves because that isn’t something you would find in the winter season. Think branches, lighted trees, and simplicity. Take a walk or research general photos of winter scenes and find what it is you truly love about the season.
Winter wedding colors
As we mentioned above, you don’t have to limit your colors simply to holiday colors or blue. The idea is to incorporate your color into the winter theme. Your theme should be what is noticed by your guests with the colors not overpowering the winter theme. Be sure to meet with your florist early on and find out what flowers are available during the winter season. This can also help you decide on your main color scheme. When consider traditional holiday colors, decide if you prefer the vintage colors or the modern bright colors. Victorian christmas colors can add a whole new look to your wedding.
Other things to think about with a winter wedding
You want to make sure you have a chosen a location that is going to take great care in the safety of your guests without the ugliness that can come with it. All sidewalks should be cleared, but you don’t really want your guests walking over large salt rocks to get to you. Parking lots should be completely cleared to ensure enough parking for your guests. Extra snow should be out of site, not piled up around the area your guests will be entering from. Consider guest transportation for those who may not feel comfortable driving in the weather.
Choosing to have a winter theme doesn’t have to limit you in decor. Consider it as an enhancement to styles and flowers that fit any season. Lighting goes along way when considering a winter wedding so be sure to include that in your budget.
